Dr. F.M. (Felicity) Turner-Zwinkels
Biography
Dr. Felicity Turner-Zwinkels is a political psychologist, broadly interested in the study of identity, belief systems, group processes, and societal engagement. Her key research goal is to understand how the content and structure of belief systems provide people with meaning and influence the way that groups in society relate to each other. Through her research she hopes to gain more insight into the cognitive processes that shape networks of beliefs about the self and about politics, and how these beliefs in turn shape people’s behaviour, including political engagement and intra/intergroup relations. Through this she hopes to learn more about why people make certain political choices (e.g., who votes for who, who becomes an activist) and how people relate to others with similar or different political attitudes to their own (e.g., political polarization).
