Bas van Bavel: Corona pandemic is no 'great leveler' for inequality

The current pandemic is sometimes marked as ‘great equalizer’, but scientists from Utrecht and Wageningen University show why the opposite might be true. A study by Bas van Bavel and Marten Scheffer shows that throughout history, most disasters and pandemics have boosted inequality instead of levelling it.
