In her current research, she studies the implications of empirical psychological research for the study of ethics, in particular moral obligations. She acquired NWO grants for her work on the philosophical implications of empirical studies on moral agency (2009-2014), Kant on morality (2011-2015), and moral relevance and weakness of will (2012-2016). Her book on Kant and Cosmopolitanism: The Philosophical Ideal of World Citizenship (Cambridge University Press, 2012) received the North American Kant Association Biennial Book Prize.
